Verona 1 v 3 AC Milan

Verona played hosts to Milan who must ensure the win to keep them at the top of the table in front of a ever-pursing Inter . The match appeared to start off well with Tonali scoring from the get go but that was reversed for an offside! Though Milan controlled much of the proceedings they were struggling down the wings, with both Theo Hernandez and Calabria being push to their defensive limits and contributing little to the offence.

Verona cut through a Milan’s defence in an effortless manner for Faraoni who slotted it home. Milan fell on the backfoot but were bailed out by Leao brilliance dribbling through the wing to centre the ball back to Tonali who this time scored!

AC Milan wasted no time in the second half with a  repeat of Leao wing play to a centred Tonali who slotted it home again. Tonali’s scoring success was supported by Krunic dropping back for cover and support in the defensive half.  Milan’s midfield managed to take control of the second half and were trying to push forward for a third goal. Giroud who was quiet came off for Rebic with the intention of pressuring Verona’s defence to a mistake and swift counters, it may not have resulted in a goal, but Rebic is able to bring another attacking presence that defenders have to swiftly adapt too if they have been getting too comfortable with Giroud or Ibrahimovic. Towards the tail end of the match, Verona did have a few chances in the box but Tomori & Kalulu defensive presence ensured that they could not round the striker and had to take desperate shots.

With only minutes in the game to play, substitute Florenzi did what he has been threatening to do all season and scored a brilliant goal from range that sealed the match for AC Milan.
