Sassuolo 0 v 3 AC Milan

AC Milan were the visitors needing the win to ensure the title was theirs as Inter played their game at the same time. It was almost a home game for Milan as they had over 15,000 travelling fans who packed the stadium.AC Milan went on the attack immediately and Sassuolo desperately tried to hold them off but no to no avail as Leao dribbled through the left flank and delivered into Giroud’s path who scored. This again was repeated exactly the same with Sassuolo unable to prevent Leao’s dribbling and at 0-2 up.At the 36th minute shortly before half time, another Leao assist to Kessie ensured he found himself a goal which sealed the victory for Milan before half time at 0-3 up and was his departing gift for AC Milan. Sassuolo could have scored throughout the night but Mike Maignan has now made fantastic saves into the ordinary every week affair, as he kept out Davide Frattesi’s stunning shot and in the second half ensured another hit the cross bar.

The second half Milan focused on a possession based game and took minimal risks, playing out the time mostly with Sassuolo doing their best to create something. Despite this, Kalulu and Tomori were rock solid with their pace and positioning keeping Milan locked up safely. Ibrahimovic, Diaz, Florenzi,Romagnoli and Bennacer were brought onto the field late into the game where they were able to join in on the field whilst the departing players began joining the sideline festivities.

This was the most dominant AC Milan had looked all season and their first half was the best 45 minutes they have played in nearly two decades . The win ensured the 11 year drought was over and AC Milan stood tall on top of the table above all else.
