During the January transfer window, AC Milan only purchased
one player, the signing of striker Marko Lazetic from Red Star on a long-term
deal. His deal runs until June 2026 and he has only played a few senior games
but is considered a hot prospect going into the future.
This signing has left AC Milan fans disillusioned due to it’s rivals strengthening
with Vlahovic to Juventus and Robin Gosens to Inter Milan. Fans are wanting
major improvements to the squad to keep pace with Inter and after last season’s
midseason collapse to ensure there is not a need for a battle for 4th
place.
On the positive side, Lazetic is a pacey tall forward who though has only played less than 30 games he does have both Champions League and Europa League experience, a rare trait at age 18.
It’s very hard to make a judgement on the young player himself , but Milan’s activity in this transfer window was very disappointing as they needed players who can contribute to the project now to at least solidify top four or to have an ambitious shot at the title.
